WebNov 20, 2024 · Replacing a filament light bulb with an LED light bulb, can sometimes cause the vehicles electronics (or turn signal relay) to flash the turn signals faster than normal (hyper flash). The CAN bus system (vehicles electronics) can also think there is a bulb failure. Installing load resistors will mimic the filament light bulbs load on the system. WebApr 15, 2014 · Using Ohm's law (V = IR) , this 1.2 amps corresponds to 12/1.2 = 10 ohms. So you would need a 10 ohm load resistor. Since it is replacing a 21W bulb , you would basically need a 25W (or 50W) load resistor rated at 10 ohms. This would again have to be wired parallel to the LED's. I got them from here :

This will happen when you have additional LED upgrades relying on the resistance of the bulb to function properly. This is commonly found with LED Front turn signals that don’t have a large enough resistor. show jumping air vest
How to Install Load Resistors for LED Turn Signal Lights:
WebSuper long reach: 36" cable measuring from bulb to resistor allowing resistor being mounted to a perfect metal flat spot (29.5" cable from resistor, 5.5" from male and female harness). Lower profile, about 1/3 flatter than traditional golden resistor, greatly reduces the chance of touching any plastic parts.
