WebOct 14, 2024 · 1 Incase you have't already done it, quit bitcoind and relaunch it: bitcoind -daemon -blocksonly. By default, bitcoind relays transactions while you're syncing and using -blocksonly turns that off. As others have said, you can probably get a little more performance by adjusting the video memory. Idk, bitcoin core 0.9.2 is using ~220 MB currently. Thats less than my browsers (~300 MB [FF] and ~260 MB [Chrome]). electrum uses ~23MB.

WebFor me, Bitcoin core will take about half an hour to sync, and I feel this is way too slow. I have a relatively new gaming laptop with an i7 processor, 8GB RAM.
